Is the RevoFit only for Athletes?
No, while many athletes love the on-the-fly adjustability in the heat of competition, so do the many other amputees who have struggled with changes in socket fit due to changes in limb volume and changes in activity levels.
Can RevoFit be put into my existing socket or do I need to get a new one?
Because the system is incorporated into the lamination of the socket, a new one will have to be made. That being said, if you have a socket that you like and is comfortable your Prosthetist can duplicate your current mold and remake your socket with the adjustable system installed. If your current socket does not fit well, we recommend that you start fresh with a new casting, test sockets, etc. It is a bit more work but it will yield the best results.
Can my local Prosthetist incorporate RevoFit into my socket?
Yes, have your Prosthetist contact us at (801) 641-3398 for more information on licensing, trainings and how to order Revofit Lamination Kits. If your local Prosthetist prefers, we also offer socket fabrication at our office and have made sockets for facilities all over the World. They would simply send us your mold, we fabricate it to your specifications, and then send it back for your prosthetist to fit and fine tune.
Is RevoFit covered by my insurance?
Each insurance company is different. You local Prosthetist will be able to answer questions specific to your insurance company.
Will I still have to wear fitting socks?
The Revofit socket only adjusts over the areas that you and your prosthetist designate. If your entire limb fluctuates, then yes, you may still need to use socks. However, most patients find that their sock use greatly decreases with this system.
What’s the weight limit?
Our suggested weight limit for our current Revofit system is 250 lbs. If a patient is more than 250 lbs please contact your prosthetist or call us at 970-829-1437 to discuss design options.
I don’t make my own sockets, does Click Medical offer central fabrication?
No, Click medical does not offer Central Fabrication but would be happy to suggest one of many central fabrication facilities that are experienced in using our technology.
What types of liners or suspension systems are compatible?
We know there are many ways to make a prosthetic limb and don’t want to dictate what systems can and can’t use the RevoFit. We’ve made the RevoFit compatible with most liner types (cushion, pin, seal-in, suction) and suspension systems (knee sleeve, pin lock, lanyard, suction, vacuum). We feel the system has unlimited potential and we’re excited to see the different designs that you create for your individual patients.
What levels of amputations can I use this on?
While the majority of our kits are used on Trans-tibial and Trans-femoral sockets, we’ve also had some great results with upper limb patients. We use the system on myoelectric upper extremity sockets to create adjustable electrode sites. This system, when used in our myoelectric designs, allows the patient to increase compression over their electrode sites for better contact, better myo control and less muscle fatigue throughout the day.
RevoFit technology is also ideal for joint disarticulation patients. The embedded filament and Boa® dial replaces bulky and unsightly Velcro straps with an adjustable system that is easier to use. And, because the system is embedded in the socket itself, there is nothing external to clean. The result is a socket for your joint disarticulation patient that is low- profile, easy to use and extremely hygienic.
The main reason is dial placement. The Versa kit allows the dial to be placed anywhere on the socket. This can be very useful in cases where the patient has limited motion or mobility to reach the dial.
The Direct kit is capable of inline dial placement. This is helpful in certain situations where the patient wants the dial placed in certain regions of the socket.
With the Versa option, the dial can be placed anywhere on the socket because the filament ports on the dial are parallel.
In most cases, the RevoFit Direct dial is placed on a panel. The dial ports for the filament are at 180 degrees.
